An Act of Delhi Legislative Assembly, passed on April 6 1998, constituted delhi jal board. Main aim of establishing djb delhi was to make it possible for this metropolis to cater to the needs of drinkable water for all citizens of National Capital Territory of Delhi that faced water crisis. Jal board delhi eased overcoming that crisis.

Today djb delhi has resolved water crisis. In fact jal board delhi successfully supplies pure filtered water to NCR residents. Attempts of delhi jal board is lauded as Indian capital progresses with phenomenal growth of India for decades. Now djb delhi caters to the needs of more than 160 lakh residents.
